In response to the recent wildfires affecting parts of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board has issued a statement emphasizing the city’s resilience and the critical role of tourism in its recovery.

Adam Burke, President & CEO of the Board, expressed deep sympathy for those impacted and profound gratitude to first responders and aid providers. He highlighted the community’s unity and the unwavering spirit of Angelenos during this challenging time.

Tourism’s Vital Role in Economic Recovery

Tourism is a cornerstone of Los Angeles’ economy, employing over 540,000 residents and supporting more than 1,000 local businesses. Burke emphasized that continued visitation for leisure, business, and conventions is more critical than ever.

City’s Attractions Remain Operational

Despite the wildfires, the vast majority of Los Angeles’ world-class attractions and tourism-related businesses remain fully operational. Visitors can continue to enjoy:

Burke assured that Los Angeles continues to welcome visitors with the warmth, creativity, and vibrancy that make the city unique.

Dine LA: Supporting Local Businesses and Relief Efforts

Coinciding with the recovery efforts, Los Angeles has launched Dine LA, a renowned culinary program featuring over 420 innovative and eclectic restaurants across the region.

This initiative invites locals and visitors to explore the city’s diverse culinary offerings. Notably, for each Dine LA reservation made, LA Tourism will donate $5 to the American Red Cross, up to $50,000.

Thanks to a generous $5 matching contribution from Banc of California, the total possible donation will double to $100,000. This effort showcases the vibrant local businesses ready to welcome guests and directly supports ongoing wildfire relief efforts.

Commitment to Safety and Recovery

The Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board is dedicated to providing meaningful ways for travelers to engage with and support recovery efforts. They assure that tourism partners are committed to offering a safe and welcoming experience for all, whether you’re a local enjoying a staycation or a guest from around the globe. The Board will continue to offer avenues for travelers to contribute to the city’s recovery, expressing profound gratitude for the community’s strength and the outpouring of support for the City of Angels.
